Good entry

Greg Newburn

Rhys,

You mention that "someday" someone will take Mormonism to a new level by adding some new guy. Well, it already happened. In tenth grade, in an effort to prove to my mother how ridiculous Mormonism was, I wrote a brand new addition to the Book of Mormon, a sort of "yes, that's true, and I'm the newest Prophet" kind of thing. It didn't catch on, though, because my mother was horrified and threw it away, calling me a megalomaniac and a narcissist.

Rhys, you should be working on your script!

Dear Readers of BeatJeremyCoon,
I called Rhys just not to talk about how funny I found this entry, but as it turns out, he's not kidding.
And all this time I thought he was saving up to buy me presents! Turns out its so he can give 10% of his income to the Mormon Church. I'm so distressed.
And yes, I am being serious.

I think it would be better to prove to the world that you dont have to be part of some incestuous cult to be successful in film! Then once you've made it, give kaballah and scientology another look.

Dad

I still think that being a born again atheist is the way to go.

i came up with a new word for christian/jew half-breed today: Semitigoy. Sounds like a tribe. My mom would like to write a children's book about the Semitigoys for all those poor American children with Chanukah trees and blue-and-white Christmas lights illuminating their windows. I said she should get you to do it.

Welcome to DC! AGAIN!

Of course if you really want to blow your mind you ought to look up the Joseph Smith - Kabbalah connection. Still very controversial in many circles, but you can always blend them. (LOL)

You know, you might want to check out Swedenborgianism. It's better still, I promise. I'm totally serious too, by the way. Look up Emanuel Swedenborg and the New Church.

Guess my question is why would someone want to convert to a religion for something other than the truth? It's one thing to know in your heart, it's another to be presented with evidence. I believe the Bible is not only historical accurate, but it is indeed the only Word of God.

well, i personally loved the blog and find it quite hallarious, but also quite true... with few fixes on ur mormon cons, but it happens. I say, do what you believe, not what your friends believe and not what will make you a good film maker, that is a talent you bring on yourself. (I'm sure divine intervension comes in at some points as well, but thats besides the point) Give it some good research and prayer.. i guess thast all the advice id give. and comming from a mormon, i say question religion, even this one.. i do it all the time just to make sure I've got the right thing on hand ;) takes a lot of time and effort lol.

http://www.whatismormonism.com/ do not decide till you read this website.

Funny how everyone jumps on Mormonism. Reading anti-LDS propaganda, like some of the comments here, is like reading remote, bitter memoirs of US ex-patriots living somewhere in Paris, ranting about the evils of the hamburger. Of course they omit such delights as a game at Yankee stadium or succulant Omaha Steak, or a climb in the Tetons. When these folks condemn the LDS culture and history they are also condemning most Biblical prophets. Ce la vie!

Thanks for a well thought out post. Mormons do it better!

Holy shipwreck this is funny stuff! Thanks for the laughs. And if you're serious, well bummer.
